About The Circular Temple
This book was written over a period of many years. It consists of 1,440 pictorial symbols which I, John Sandbach, channeled. The symbols are expressed in words rather than visual pictures, and divided into 4 groups, each one containing 360 symbols.
In all 4 groups each of the 360 symbols corresponds to one of the 360 degrees of the zodiac. Therefore each degree of the zodiac corresponds to four different symbols, one from each group. These four different groups are known as the Omega Symbols, the Pleiadian Symbols, the Chandra Symbols, and the Azoth Symbols.
The book has three main purposes (1) it can be used by astrologers to interpret charts, by looking up the specific degree of each planet in a chart. (2) It can be used by anyone as an oracle, by asking a question and then randomly drawing one of the degrees of the zodiac to answer the question. (3) The degrees can be read in order or at random as meditations on spiritual principles and the interplay of subtle energies.
“The Circular Temple” has been called a modern “I Ching.” For those of you unfamiliar with this work, the “I Ching” is an ancient Chinese book consisting of 64 pictorial symbols known as “hexagrams” which the Chinese consulted by randomly picking one to answer a specific question.
You may also think of “The Circular Temple” as a kind of tarot deck, for it is meant to be used for the same purpose as the tarot is used – the answering of questions. The difference is that whereas the Tarot contains 78 cards, you may think of “The Circular Temple” as containing 360 different cards.
The Chinese had several methods of consulting their oracle, that is, of selecting one of the 64 “hexagrams” of the “I Ching.” One method was through engaging in a ritual of tossing coins in a particular pattern to see if they came up as “heads” or “tails.” This pattern was then used to select the “hexagram.”

Wow, a huge thank you to John for putting this book together :) The mystical interpretations are a boon the the astrology field. With the seed degrees and fulfillment degrees, I believe this book does much to reach greater depths of awareness and understanding of an astrological chart. The images and feelings that are evoked are a wonder to behold, I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a new twist on interpretations :)Product details

The Circular Temple is John Sandbachs' magnum opus on the Degree Symbols. I have turned to this work over and over again...An invaluable tool for clarity in bringing an astrological chart to life and incomparable as an oracle. This is the most complete work on degree symbols in existence.
There is hardly any day that I do not use it. Everything known about each of the degrees is in here, such as the Degree Angels for every degree from the mystical tradition of the Kabbalah for contemplation and deeper understanding.
Features that I especially love are the Titles which very clearly describe the vibration and purpose of every degree. Most helpful!
And at last there is the divine, mysterious Oracle. For every degree the Oracle speaks in a fascinating prose poem filled with ageless timeless wisdom. This part could stand alone as a great work. To give an example I just consulted the degree symbols to ask how I could best describe this work and what came up was Libra 3, the title is "The perceiving of reality in a new and creative manner or relating carried to the extreme of breakthrough." And the Pleiadian Symbol for Libra 3 is "The sun rises into a parallel universe." There are many such delights in this book, a work of genius.
Ellias Lonsdale, the well known astrologer and author used John's Chandra Symbols in his book "Inside Degrees". That book is a well worn staple in my house and in our group for many years. Many of us know them by heart. Ellias, when he saw the new Pleiadian Symbols said that these symbols had breathed new life into the Sabian Symbols and when used in conjunction with them brought new perspective and depth. Ellias was a student of Marc Edmond Jones who wrote The Sabian Symbols book and worked closely with him for many years.
If you want to know how salamanders consume lightning to create the fire in opals, if you would like to enter through the portal into other worlds these Oracles are the ticket. When there is nowhere else to turn there are these symbols and The Oracle waiting there with answers. You will recognize them immediately. Ah, Irnad the Wise is summoning me to Azoth... must go now for it is a Cosmic Homecoming!

John Sandbach acknowledges the Hyperion symbols to be the original inspiration for his Azoth symbols, which in turn comprise a major part of *The Circular Temple*. He writes elsewhere, "I don't respond so much to a large number of the Hyperion Symbols..." but then adds, "The fact is, though, that the Hyperion Symbols are a very powerful set of degree symbols...even though many of them may seem prosaic on the surface it is important to look at them from a cosmic perspective to gain the most and the deepest level of meaning from them."
The words used to convey ideas to others are critical to their effective communication. Changing even one word in the expression of a degree symbol can radically alter its essential meaning. The author of *The Circular Temple* has re-written most of the Hyperion symbols as the Azoth symbols, based upon the flawed assumption that, since the Hyperion symbols do not satisfy someone's aesthetic sense of what makes an attractive degree symbol, they need to be re-written.
The re-writing of a degree symbol is full of risk for the original image and for the thought it is intended to convey. For example, the Hyperion symbol for Leo 28 is "Colts galloping around a paddock." The Azoth symbol for Leo 28 changes this to "Young horses joyfully galloping across the land." This is a radical alteration, as the internal logic of the two images is essentially conflicted, and such is the usual effect of trying to expand or enhance or "open up" degree symbols beyond their original verbal formulation.
